Our Constitution / Nos Statuts

Bylaws

CURAC/ARUCC became an incorporated entity under Part II of the Canada Corporation Act on February 9, 2006. Amendments to our By-laws passed at the 2010 Annual General Meeting were approved by the Minister of Industry of Canada as of November 10, 2010. After the Federal Government passed the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act (NFP Act) in 2009 to replace Part II of the Canada Corporations Act, the Board of Directors decided to recommend to our members that we apply to have our registration continue under the NFP Act, and to create a new “By-law No. 1” to replace our old Constitution with one that complies with the NFP Act. The recommendation and the new By-law were unanimously approved by the voting Delegates of our memberson June 13, 2013, at our Annual General Meeting at Memorial University of Newfoundland in St. John’s, NL. The resulting documents were sent sent to Industry Canada in July, 2013, and in August we received our “Certificate of Continuation” from Ottawa,
